How cool that you are enjoying the Book of Secrets! My first Osho book was 'Meditation: The Art of Ecstasy' and that book was enough to draw me into Osho's world. I later learned this book was translated from Hindi, which explained the difference in 'feel' it had from later books transcribed from Osho's English discourses. It was upon starting my second one, 'The Book of the Secrets, Vol. 1' (the Vigyan Bhairav Tantra series was in 5 books at the time) that I was hopelessly lost--sannyas became inevitable, and like you I almost couldn't put it down. I quickly read through the first three volumes (which were readily available in paperback during the early 80s) trying various techniques along the way.

Of all the techniques, the 3rd and 4th focusing on the breath, have remained very useful throughout my life. The relevant sutras are:

WHENEVER IN-BREATH AND OUT-BREATH FUSE, AT THIS INSTANT TOUCH THE ENERGY-LESS, ENERGY-FILLED CENTER.

OR, WHEN BREATH IS ALL OUT (UP) AND STOPPED OF ITSELF, OR ALL IN (DOWN) AND STOPPED -- IN SUCH UNIVERSAL PAUSE, ONE'S SMALL SELF VANISHES. THIS IS DIFFICULT ONLY FOR THE IMPURE.

Some other techniques that I've really enjoyed are:

LOOK LOVINGLY AT SOME OBJECT. DO NOT GO TO ANOTHER OBJECT. HERE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE OBJECT -- THE BLESSING.

The "stop" techniques are nice because they can be done most anywhere (assuming you're not operating a vehicle or something). For example:

JUST AS YOU HAVE THE IMPULSE TO DO SOMETHING, STOP.

I must confess that I haven't experimented as much with the more imaginative techniques that are shared later in the series. Since seeing your post I've gone back to take a look at some of them and I'm quite astonished by the insights coming from such an ancient book, and I really enjoy getting Osho's commentaries on these techniques as he really brings them to life.

'One of the passages referred to expanding 'one's awareness across 'our chest. To stretch the heart wide as 'your awareness and 'your consciousness for love, vitality, and presence expands. When 'i first read the passage and followed the instructions, 'i felt room to grow and stretch out.

Since that time 'i have emerged into a much more enlightened space. 'i have been visited along 'my path by Osho several times. The first time 'he visited, 'he was quite busy. 'His presence was enough to let 'me know that 'we are of the same mind and 'our souls align. 'He was paying attention.

As 'i emerged and 'my designs for 'my positive revolutions for the world came to their highest plateau, Osho visited again. This time 'i felt 'him in 'my chest. It amazed 'me that 'my consciousness was 'now stretching 'him.

To 'me, it shows 'his brilliance and 'his compassion. To support 'us all in becoming masters, and then to visit along 'the way' when 'one truly makes 'their ultimate sacrifices, and then even again to celebrate 'one's emergence by surrendering into 'their immense love, proves
a level of humility that 'i both embrace and admire.

Osho represents the duality of 'our existence impeccably. Some say 'he has contradicted 'himself more than any other writer of all time. 'i see these contradictions and 'i laugh. The strand of pearls that strung through 'my emergence was a 'broadband paradigm'. 'i started with 'Yaw. Knock it, move it, punch it, love it... but make it move and see if there is organic life in the thing. After 2.5 years of 'Yaw, the emergence, understanding, and most of all the consciousness arrived to avail a complete understanding of the essence of all things. It is what 'i call 'Awe.

'i call it 'Awe because 'i take no responsibility for this emergence. In fact, if 'i could, 'i would thank Osho for 'his immense contributions to 'one brilliant 'g lobal, aligning consciousness before 'i ever even began 'my ascension. The man is simply brilliant. A beautiful soul so often misunderstood because people take fractions of 'his perceptions and bank judgement upon the ideas. This is 'Yaw. This is exactly what Osho wants. 'He wants 'you to misunderstand 'him and find 'your 'own way. 'Your 'own way is 'the way'.

Osho's humility is most likely unmatched by any other. Though 'i believe all of 'us who truly make this sacrifice to ascend and emerge fully must embrace humility as 'one of the critical keys to enlightenment. 'i know from 'my personal experience that each and every stab at 'ownership that 'my ego makes, falls away missing its target.

To become enlightened is to become 'one with the 'soul of the world'. When 'one succeeds in making this surrender, 'one is availed opportunities to contain the gifts in ways previously unavailable to any other before. It is 'the way' of the soul of the world.

The reason is obvious. From a physical standpoint, there has never been a bigger population before today. The technologies available to 'us have never been more enterprising and efficient. The power structures, whether political, sociological, organizational, or spiritual, have never before had so much ability to share 'their wealth and prosperity over great distances.

So each day, as each new brilliant soul on 'their 'own voyage transcends the daily grind, greater access to more beauty and brilliance is availed. It is 'my paradigm that this awaits 'us all. 'i have spent years designing ideas, systems, models, and loving contributions, to pave 'the way' for more and more souls to ascend and emerge responsibly as 'our population grows to 20 billion people over the next 12 to 20 years.

This love awaits 'us all. Whether in this lifetime or the next. The Book of Secrets holds many of the keys. Osho freely shares with all of 'us that the trees, the oceans, the rivers, the love in 'your child's eyes, hold these same keys. When 'you are ready to open 'up to this love, choose to surrender and 'the way' will find 'you.
